Dolce Gabbana Alta Moda Venice 2021

Piazzetta San Marco is the place where visitors to the city were once invited to admire the magnificence of “La Serenissima” and is, accordingly, one of the most celebrated and well-known treasures of Venice.
Special guests like Saweetie, Bebe Rexha, Jennifer Lopez, Sean Combs, Doja Cat, Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Ciara, Monica Bellucci, Christian Bale, Dame Helen Mirren, Kitty Spencer, and super-rich clients watched the Alta Moda show today at St Mark’s Square, blocked by Venice for this special occasion.
Many stars and rich clients were invited to see and dine during these 3 nights of Alta Moda, Alta Gioielleria and Alta Sartoria, organized in Venezia by Dolce Gabbana. Apart from Jennifer Lopez with Price Tag, Sharon Stone’s campaign shooting with pigeons intervention, thunderstorms and huge hails, rainbows, there’s also something to talk about.
Jennifer Hudson performed Nessun Dorma at the climax of the Dolce Gabbana Alta Moda show in Venice 2021. The show started with the performance of the actors dressed in Commedia Dell’arte characters. It is a theater, performance, so loved by the designers.
Venice represents the perfect harmony of opposites that attract: it is romantic and sensual, melancholic and joyful, rational and visionary, luminous and nocturnal, sacred and profane, dark and golden. And this is the feeling of the Alta Moda 2021 collection.
“Returning to Venice always fills us with unique emotions, which we hold dear in our hearts.
Like a breath held too long that you have to let go, Venice is our dream,” – said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
Venice is a shrine to romanticism, a palace of refinement and a sanctuary of extraordinary beauty.
Inspired by Venetian art, culture and splendour, Alta Moda Collection pays homage to the history of Venice and its illustrious artists. Although Dolce Gabbana didn’t honor these artisans, so none of them were announced or praised for fabulous designs and art works presented at Alta Moda and Alta Sartoria.
The collection of 120 pieces was a reproduction of Commedia Dell’arte characters, kaleidoscopic patterns of Murano glass, or the serpentine patterns on the floor of St Mark’s, imaginative cloaks of Casanova, knotted rope as Doge’s dress. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana decided to use colorful wigs for the models to attract young generation to the collection, and some “population” of Los Angeles.
This fabulous show was a triumph of richness of Italian craftsmanship, unfortunately not one atelier who created these magnificent embroideries was mentioned, and provided richest clients of the Dolce Gabbana with a site-specific and unique souvenir…. Unique… might be a little overreach, as many pieces of this Alta Moda collection “traveled” from past years, some dresses “were nothing new”, some pieces somehow became an echo of Valentino Couture Fall Winter 2021-2022 designed by Pierpaolo Piccioli, and some like short velvet dresses were nothing to do here.
Alta Sartoria is the 3d event during this special weekend in Venice. Alta Sartoria – Haute Couture for men. Fabulous artistic work of Venetian artisans is the most spectacular part of the show. Although Dolce Gabbana didn’t honor these artisans, so none of them were announced or praised for fabulous designs and art works presented this weekend.
“Only in Venice!” Probably Zeus or one of the antient gods got jealous ones again about fabulous golden embroideries and riches and expressed his unspeakable wrath to the humans… But the show and rage of ancient gods were so mythological, and so real that the show indeed came like one of the Prometheus stories.
PS. And there’s always a right place to add special review related to the quality and service provided by Dolce Gabbana to the admirers of the brand, who might have a desire to become an owner of one of the pieces of this brand, and still don’t belong to the super-rich crowd invited tonight for Alta Moda 2021 show in Venice.

Best of Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021-2022

I, Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE and all our team of professionals and experts in support of Milan Fashion Week Digital for Fall Winter 2021-2022 season used an advanced technology and Human Intelligence to bring you LIVE events, collections and reviews. We adapted to new fashion environments by utilizing a combination of different cognitive processes. We actively used the mental actions of quick acquiring knowledge of styles, and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses, based on massive knowledge of the 50 years of the fashion and trends, remembering almost each and every piece, details and technics, analyses and critiques, and proposing different solutions in the trends. These are higher-level functions of the brain and encompass our reviews, perception, and expertise.

So it is safe to say, without celebrating our excellence (reference to some press-releases we received), that designers presented during Milan Fashion Week creative styles, designs and absolutely new eco-responsible technologies. And the colors, lots and lots of colors, from funky to classy looks.
Bobo or Bohemian style presented in Milan is not a peasant trend, so well developed by Dior, or pseudo-intellectual velvet wave from Gucci, but very refine and elegant.

New York and Paris for last several seasons (count 2-3 years) go for black, grey, brown, beige in 50 shades of sheer. All designers produce the same looks, which is almost impossible to identify – flued oversized silhouettes, cut by zippers here and there, with sewed hope for the best.

Dolce Gabbana Fall Winter 2021-2022

Dolce Gabbana Fall Winter 2021-2022. Review by Eleonora de Gray, Editor-in-Chief of RUNWAY MAGAZINE.

Well, after recent fiasco with Men collection Fall Winter 2021-2022 this collection is indeed “Back to the feature” or “Rewind” or “Remastered” experience created by two great designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. There’s indeed a glitch of Philipp Plein, and not only me had to notice, but the pink or golden glossy pants are not exactly only his signature. But there are also “Street Tagging”, “Chinese Street”, “Star Wars”, “Astronauts”, “Baseball”, themes.

Non need “to celebrate the excellence”, like it says in the press-release, as there’s no such thing as perfection. Although there’s indeed very important research related to artificial intelligence, new technologies in general which became a part of fashion, shown by models. Dolce & Gabbana and the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in this Fall Winter 2021-2022 show brought up research in the technological field and its infinite applications, fashion included.

The multifunctional humanoid robots iCub and R1 (thinking of “Star Wars”) were involved in the event, the result of IIT’s highly specialized research activity in the field of service robotics and Artificial Intelligence. Here also overlapping a little bit with Philipp Plein who showed during Milan Fashion Week a show for Spring Summer 2016 season, where models were served by the robots.

The idea of this Dolce Gabbana collection is to show how technology and craftsmanship, two different worlds, might come together. The looks for this collection were inspired by robotics research and Artificial Intelligence, and based on the looks created by Dolce Gabbana in 90s.

Let’s start from the technology. Dolce Gabbana presented I’d say “cyber-fashion” : artificial colors, fake textures and digitally enhanced features, kaleidoscopic high-tech materials, morphing wools with plastics, and vegan “things”. The designers had employed technological evolution to develop real, tactile fabrics that brought the look of virtual reality into the material world.

And what is morphing from 90s to this futuristic collection is the transformation of their LEOPARD PRINT. Everyone has a jacket or coat, black classic tailor or denim, with leopard print inside. Even Vice-President of United States Kamala Harris has one, and wore it at the Inauguration day. So this collection shows leopard prints outside in artificial yellow, red and blue colors. These colors were used on the leather, denim, polyester and silk, and applied by new technological methods.

Another known element, like we say DNA today, from Dolce Gabbana past which developed trough the years is the patchwork, amazing craftsmanship and traditional Sicilian and Italian patchwork. This patchwork also find its place in this new futuristic collection. Look how sparkle…

Themes:
“Street Tagging”. The show starts with very colorful pieces bomb-painted looks.
“Chinese Street”. The most admired and reproduced by billion “fashion looks” of Chinese streets Dolce Gabbana put up on absolutely new very luxury level.
“Star Wars” and “Astronauts”. Designers came up with very futuristic looks of the “blown up” goose-down jackets and coats in addition to specific face coverings due to pandemic. Let’s add here new marketing wave to make all “exploring cosmos”.

There are couple of other themes like “Baseball” or “Old Classic” (I don’t want to say Chanel-ish), themes and style of today and everyday life transformed and morphed by the new technologies applied to traditional fabrics, created a “New Touch” or “New Punch” of this Fall Winter 2021-2022 collection of Dolce Gabbana. Next step to use “Vegetal leather” out of apple skin, like Tommy Hilfiger produces for the second season.
